Essex and Suffolk Pest Solutions provide top-quality pest control services in Stowmarket, one of Suffolk’s fastest-growing towns. Ideally located in the heart of the county, with excellent transport links, Stowmarket is poised to get even larger, with several sites in and around the town earmarked for commercial development.
Our services include mice and rat control, ant extermination and moths treatment, but we can deal with a much wider range of pests in your home or business. You can count on us for a speedy, efficient response which will save you time and money. We do not publicise your problem to the outside world as we use discreet, unmarked vans.
We offer a round-the-clock service to businesses, and if necessary will make more than one visit to your premises to ensure pests do not return. We can also offer advice on how to guard against any future infestations. All our friendly, experienced staff are fully qualified, in line with the latest health and safety regulations.
All About Stowmarket
Stowmarket’s name comes from the Old English word stow – meaning principal place – and the market, which it was granted a royal charter for in 1347. This is still held twice weekly in the town’s Market Place.
It was originally an agricultural market town, with the industry developing as the transport links improved. Trade first went via the River Gipping, which flowed through the town and then on into the River Orwell, through Ipswich and into the sea.
This in turn was replaced by rail. Stowmarket’s train station opened in 1846, and it now lies on the Great Eastern main line, with regular services to Norwich, London, Cambridge and Ipswich. Nowadays the town also benefits from being adjacent to the A14, which links the east and west Suffolk. Stowmarket has seen its population rise from around 6,000 at the start of the 1980s to nearer 20,000 today.
Major employers include the ICI paint factory on the edge of the town, which now has joint foreign ownership. Close by is the Muntons maltsters factory which supplies malt products to the food and drink industries. Stowmarket also has a range of shops centred around Ipswich Street, and in business parks and industrial estates outside the town centre.
More sites have just been released for commercial development. More than 100 acres of land have been earmarked for a business centre with links to Felixstowe Port, while work has already started on the new Atex Business Park, which will eventually house more than 30 small units.
