Ilford is now part of the London borough of Redbridge, but was officially part of Essex until 1965 and still has many links with the county. It has a large commercial and retail centre, which is likely to get even bigger once the Crossrail project is completed in the town.
Our commercial pest control services in Ilford include dealing with rodent problems, ant extermination and cockroach and flea control. We can also deal with a wide range of other pests which affect businesses and we also operate in neighbouring areas including Romford, Brentwood and Billericay.
Our experienced teams can work around-the-clock to solve your pest problem, as we appreciate that any lost time can cost your company money. We use discreet, unmarked vans so no one else needs to know you have an issue, helping to protect your company’s reputation.
We will provide full reports on any work we carry out and offer advice to make sure that any problem does not return. Our services can also be provided a non-contract basis for one-off problems, such as decontaminating or clearing old premises.
The Heritage of Ilford
Ilford benefited from its position close to the Roman road between London and Colchester, and artefacts from that period have been discovered in the town. The A12 now follows much of the route of the original road, and links Ilford with Chelmsford, Colchester and many other towns and villages in Essex.
The town’s railway station also helped Ilford to grow. Now part of the Great Eastern Main Line, it offers regular services to London Liverpool Street and towns in Essex, including Romford and Brentwood.
The town is likely to reap the commercial benefits of the Crossrail project, which will cut journey times into Central London as well as providing major improvements to the its railway station.
The area has been a centre for the manufacture of electronic and engineering products. The world-famous company Plessey was based in the town for many years and John Logie Baird, who invented the television set, used the business’s headquarters in Ley Street to work on his idea. The town was also the headquarters of the famous Ilford Photo company, which made photographic paper, chemicals and cameras.
Today Ilford has a vibrant and diverse town centre, with its Business Improvement District representing more than 400 companies. The Exchange Shopping Centre has most of the big names while Ilford High Road is around a mile long and is home to a wide range of shops including clothing stores and hairdressers.
